Journaling to Heal

Follow my Instagram account for weekly journaling prompts.

Journaling is a good way to get your feelings out. You can journal daily, weekly, or whenever you feel the need to. You just write what comes to mind, it doesn't need to make sense. I find that journaling allows me to break past what my mind is telling me. I am able to listen to my heart and address the root of the problem.

When you're first starting out, journaling can be intimidating. You may not want your thoughts to be written for others to see. I would suggest setting boundaries for anyone else in your house. Let them know that these are your personal thoughts, and they are for your eyes only. If you don't feel comfortable keeping a journal you can write your thoughts and then throw the paper away. Just the act of getting thoughts out is what you are striving for.

I will share a weekly journaling prompt on my Instagram account every Monday. Please follow me if you don't already. There are links to my social media accounts on my website.

The first prompt is: What did you enjoy doing when you were a child? How can you incorporate that joy into your life today?

Think back to when you were a child. What did you enjoy doing? Children are less influenced by society and generally have a better understanding of what makes them happy in life. This is how I realized my passion for writing and helping others. I can remember writing stories and essays throughout school. My teachers were always impressed by my work, and I generally enjoyed writing.

Find a way to incorporate the things you love into your life. Play a musical instrument, draw or paint, sew, learn how to knit. Find a creative outlet that will allow you to relax and be.

If you feel up to sharing, let me know what you will be incorporating into your life. I would love to hear your thoughts.
