Find Your Reset Button

Figure out what helps you to reset after hard times.

It's important to find your reset place or activity. You need a place you can go or an activity you can do that calms your heart and mind.

Reset places:

  • A park

  • Your backyard

  • The beach

  • The mountains

  • A coffee shop

  • A bookstore

  • A restaurant

  • A spa

Reset Activities:

  • Reading

  • Hiking

  • Swimming

  • Kayaking

  • Listening to music

  • Dancing

  • Sewing

  • Crafting

  • Journaling

  • Doing a puzzle

  • Getting a massage

Once you find your reset button, go there when things seem overwhelming. Sometimes, when things in the house seem overwhelming, I take a few minutes and go in my backyard, or I go for a walk. When I've had a rough week I like to go camping, hiking, or kayaking. Nature is my reset button. It brings me back to life. If I'm having a bad day at work, I sit and listen to the birds on my lunch break, or I watch them fly through the air effortlessly. Nature reminds of all of the good in the world and I am able to reconnect my body and spirit.

Find your reset place or activity and do it as often as you can or when you need to. Take time for yourself to clear you mind so that you're able to tackle all of life's challenges. Don't be afraid to step away from the chaos to take care of yourself.
